Hi,

1) HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU WORKOUT?

2) BIGGEST WORKOUT MISTAKES BY FEMALE PLAYERS

1) HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU WORKOUT?

A common question I get asked is, "How often should I workout"?

Most of us are very busy and have a loaded schedule (school, volleyball, work, etc).

Rest and recovery is very important for the super busy athlete.

Another thing to consider is the time of year. There will be more time available for strength training during the off-season months.

Although there doesn't seem to be an off-season anymore. Today, most of us play volleyball year round.

To answer the question about training frequency...

Off-season: 2-4 days/week (2 or 3 total-body workouts per week Tuesday & Thursday, 2 upper & 2 lower body workouts/week M-T-Th-F or 3 days/week alternating upper & lower body routines M-W-F)

Pre-season: 2-3 days/week (2 or 3 total-body workouts per week, or 3 days/week alternating upper & lower body routines M-W-F)

In-season: 1-3 days/week (1- 3 total-body workouts per week, or 2-3 days/week alternating upper & lower body routines)
