Help the find the "why". Why are you doing this?

They then say they don't really know. They haven't thought about that. You want them to get into the details of what it means to go to college.
Do you want to go to any college? Community college? Why do you want to go there? Is there a special program there? Do you want to live close to home?
Or do you want to go to a Division I college?
You want to get the athlete to spell it out for you. Write it down and re-visit this often. Get into detail is the key to motivation.
